Searching for a new city to call home

I established that I really dislike staying in the same place for long, building up daily routines or doing “normal day-to-day activities”. I have never been one to “go with the flow”, as I can never hold my tongue when I see an inferior solution being enforced. I have interests in technology, architecture, psychology and culture, but the problem that I face is every little thing that was once unfamiliar, is now known to me like the back of my hand. I have an inner passion for exploring, seeing foreign things and getting lost in new places.
At the end of the summer in 2014, I realized that Vancouver was starting to lose its charm. I am no longer exhilarated by the culture, people and vibe that western Canada provides. I set myself on a journey to find a new city, somewhere else around the world that provides me with the satisfaction I am looking for. I have been curating and refining a list of destinations that I am going to visit before my eighteenth birthday in pursuit of finding a new city to call home.
My list of destinations are as follows:

- Bordeaux, France
- Berlin, Germany
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Oslo, Norway
- San Francisco, United States
- London, England
- Vienna, Austria
- Istanbul, Turkey
- Stockholm, Sweden
- New York, United States
- Cape Town, South Africa
- Zadar, Croatia
- Toronto, Canada
As would be expected, there are an infinite number of other destinations that I have interest in visiting, but from my own research, these fourteen destinations could potentially house my future. Since the summer, I have visited San Francisco (in October) and New York (in December). You can watch my daily video blogs on my YouTube channel and with just over two months in between travels, it’s time to go again.
My next destination is going to be Montreal. I have found that Quebec holds a unique Canadian culture, having various interesting districts, people and a foreign language. I am planning a trip that consists of flying to the city from YVR and staying in a Airbnb for a couple weeks to experience the city while I work and explore.
Maybe I’ll find that place that makes my clock tick clearer, that’s the main objective of these travels. To find somewhere I’d like to call home.
