Hiya, Svbtle! (Re-introduction)

Hey, it’s me—Willow. I have decided that I want to get back into writing more regularly again. I learned a lot about myself and the world around me during 2015 and I’m positive I’m going to learn even more during 2016. I have always been intrigued by how my essays can show who I am, as a person at the time of writing them.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been reading over my previous articles on Medium. It continually amazes me how pretentious and privileged I was as a (seemingly) cis white male. The past year has been humbling and I want to bring my readers on a ride through my transition, search for work:life balance and any new adventures that find me.

If you don’t know who I am, here’s a little bit of an intro:

My name is Willow Bxmxy. I am a twenty-seventeen year old trans woman from Vancouver, Canada. I primarily work on iOS apps, but I have started to dabble into Go and hardware projects. I love to work on products that improve lives and inspire change, especially those in the financial, medical and environmental tech industries.

I also dropped out of high school a while back (for some reason) and I haven’t looked back. I have considered majoring in Criminology but I don’t see uni as a means to a career but rather as a way to study topics that I am passionate about—and I don’t have a bottomless pit of cash to pay for tuition. I also love photography, so check out my Instagram.

Follow me on my journey for self-fulfilment. I am not sure what’ll look like, but I do know it’ll be one heck of a ride.
